Here Be Books & Games is an inviting, service-oriented bookstore and game store located in Summerville, South Carolina, near historic Charleston. We strive to provide a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in which you can browse our 40,000+ used, rare, out-of-print, new, and collectible hardback and paperback book selection, as well as, our stock of boardgames, card games, playing cards, tarot cards, and dice. There are a few comfy chairs where you can relax and read. Cold drinks are available for purchase. We can even pull out a card table if you want to play a game.
Over 40,000 Fiction and Nonfiction Books... and Counting
With over 40,000 books in stock, you're sure to find something to your liking. Our bookstore carries hard cover, paperback, CD audio and children's books - and accepts them for trade, too. While most of our stock is used and out-of-print books, we do also have some new, rare and antiquarian books on our shelves as well. Our favorite book genres are Sci-Fi Fantasy, Roleplaying Games, Children’s Series, and Ancient History, but we make a concerted effort to stock a variety of books in all categories. Our metaphysics section includes new and used books and tarot cards.
Designer Board Games and Card Games
Our designer boardgames and card games (also known as Euro games) have overflown their shelves and spread throughout the store. We stock a variety of board games, and card games, for all ages, including family games, gateway games, word games, party games, kids games, and gamer games, all by the best game publishers, including Rio Grande, Mayfair, Z-Man, Fantasy Flight, Asomodee, AEG, Steve Jackson Games and more!
Demo Game Library
Looking for something new and fun to play? We'd be happy to recommend a game based on your current likes and dislikes. Our demo game library of over 300 board games and card games allows you to try before you buy. We'll even teach you how to play. Just ask us anytime.
Join us for Game Night, the first Saturday of every month. Admission is free.

Roleplaying Games, Playing Cards, Dice and Accessories
In addition to all of our books and games, our bookstore carries a variety of roleplaying games (RPGs), playing cards, and dice. We're an authorized retailer for Piatnik playing cards, Crystal Caste Dwarven Stones, Dwarven Metals, and other fantasy roleplaying game dice, and Chessex dice and gaming supplies.
The first Saturday of every month is Game Night at Here Be Books & Games. We also host Afternoon Game Days when school lets out for the summer. See our Events page for a list of all upcoming events at Here Be Books & Games.

If we don’t have a book or game in stock, we can usually find and special order it for you, even books that are out of print or rare. Searches are free and there's no obligation to buy. We do require pre-payment on special orders and preorders of books and games.
